Gender equality, environment, fight against Islamophobia, climate change and anti-racism have focused the political proposals in defense of human rights presented by about 150 students of Se buscan Gigantes de València, Torrent and Burjassot to the political authorities during the meeting held at the Bancaja Foundation in Valencia. The regional deputy in the Valencian Parliament for the PP, Marisa Gayo; and the councilor for Equality and Feminism of Burjassot, Yolanda Andrés have picked up the gauntlet thrown down by the students of IES Campanar, Serra Perenxisa and Vicent Andrés Estellés.
This project promoted by Jovesólides to promote the defense of fundamental human rights among Valencian youth, facilitating processes of social participation and political advocacy, has once again connected young people, activists and political representatives to work together. In its first three editions, Se Buscan Gigantes has already reached 1,360 students from 50 schools in the Valencian Community.
The General Director of Inclusion and International Cooperation, Pedro Carceller, and the President of Jovesólides, Lourdes Mirón, inaugurated the exchange day and encouraged the young students to 'raise their voices for those who have no voice, for the planet and for equality'. 'The voices of giants end up changing the world, sow seeds that change lives,' insisted Carceller.
During the meeting in Valencia, Joanna Giménez, climate activist from 'Futuro Vegetal', Amer Sweis, activist for the Palestinian cause, and Gabriella Nuru, anti-racist feminist, also shared their experiences, giving inspirational speeches to the youth and encouraging them to fight for change towards a more just and equal society regardless of their age.
