Valencia will host on December 1st the II Congress against Islamophobia in the Valencian Community, organized by Jovesólides with the collaboration of Casa Marruecos and the funding of the second vice-presidency and Conselleria de Servicios Sociales, Igualdad y Vivienda. During the day, which will be held at the Centro del Carmen Cultura Contemporánea, a dozen speakers and leading activists will analyze the phenomenon of Islamophobia in its international dimension. It will also feature the country's leading media leaders and will showcase innovative actions of organized civil society to curb Islamophobia. In addition, Congress participants will enjoy an enriching cultural experience with music, short intermissions full of the story that is never told and exquisite gastronomy.
This is a pioneering forum in Spain designed to raise awareness of Islamophobia as one of the main racist discrimination suffered by Muslims in various regions of the world. It is a meeting to present innovative initiatives and different ways to reverse Islamophobia. The Congress was born in 2022 as a unique space to estimate the universe that surrounds the Islamic civilization through history, architecture, music, gastronomy and other forms of social and artistic expression.
Under the slogan 'Understand, inform, act to stop Islamophobia' the organization has put together a multidisciplinary content with more than a dozen speakers, experts and activists who will participate in conferences, round tables and open dialogues with the public throughout the day. The detailed program will be announced in the coming weeks on the website of the II Congress of Islamophobia in the Valencian Community.
The conference will be held at the emblematic Centro del Carmen de Cultura Contemporánea, built in the historic center of Valencia on the remains of a well-preserved Islamic house of the ancient Balansiya.
Registration is free and can be made in the following form until November 19 or until full capacity is reached.
