In the midst of the digital era, around 13% of the job offers generated in Spain demand technological proficiency. And according to the latest estimates of the European Commission, in 2020 40% of positions in this sector were unfilled. But despite the fact that the technology sector offers better opportunities and working conditions, only 20% of women choose to study for a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) career. To reverse this reality and encourage the participation of girls and adolescents in these disciplines, from Jovesólides we organized the workshop #BITaminadas.
Today, expert voices in the industry are calling attention to the fact that the early stages of girls' education is essential to attract them to these disciplines. Achieving this is important to break the stereotypes that define ICT professions as an exclusively male territory. And also because having half of the population in these professional fields will allow us to make more and better progress in the many social challenges we already face.
With BITaminadas we want the girls and young women of today to be the leaders of tomorrow.
What is BITaminadas and what will participants learn?
