The event was held under the slogan 'ICTs for a generation of non-conformists' at the La Petxina socio-cultural complex in Valencia. During the event, the Deputy Mayoress and Councillor for the Elderly, Sandra Gómez, presented an honorary diploma to users Àngels Dasí and Vicente Sebastián, representing and recognising all the students who have taken Jovesólides training courses in favour of digital inclusion, more than 5,000 people in the ten years that Mobilised Seniors has been running. Visibly moved, Dasí and Sebastián highlighted the role of the programme in bridging the digital divide and inequality among this generation.
The promoter of the campaign 'I'm old, not an idiot', Carlos San Juan, and the Ombudsman for the Elderly of Valencia city, Asunción Pérez, took part in a round table where they highlighted the contribution of the elderly in the construction of the history of Spain and the Valencian Community. Both encouraged all attendees to continue to claim their rights with pride and dignity, especially in terms of receiving proper care from banks, administrations and public service providers.
The Ju Ja Teatre theatre company added a touch of humour to the start of the event, which concluded with a lunch of horchata and fartons for all those attending.
