WHY IT MATTERS

  • Education is essential for the advancement and progress of individuals and society.
  • It promotes the commitment and solidarity of young people towards causes that include the most disadvantaged people and sectors.
  • It enables them to acquire the skills, attitudes, and values that are necessary in building present and future sustainability.

WHAT JOVESOLIDES DOES

  • We encourage social commitment to refugees, including their integration within communities.
  • We awaken young peoples’ critical abilities, and their awareness of social problems.
  • We work to generate a culture of peace and a society in which respect for diversity prevails.

  • The interesting thing about these labs is the methodology that we use. It is less about theoretical concepts, and more about the dynamics and games.

PROJECTS

  • La Caja

    Place: València

    La Caja (The Box). With this program, we bring children and young people from Valencia, Castellón, Elche and Alicante closer to other realities through the SDGs. Therefore, we work on involving young people in developing measures to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy the culture of peace and prosperity. All this is done through social innovation.

    How are we working on this project?

    For this, we make use of an innovative methodology, Creative Solution to Social Problems (CSSP), designed and tested by the association. We also make use of creative dynamics and experiential experiences, which help young people break prejudices, taking down the walls that box them in.

  • Out of the box

    Place: Several countries

    Out of the box is a project aimed at promoting a positive and welcoming attitude towards the refugee population amongst young technicians. All this through an innovative methodology, based on gamification. Through this, 20 young people have been trained in each of the five participating countries. The end goal: to encourage participation at a local level in order to build a more coherent and tolerant society.

    How are we working on this project?

    Through the design of a new gamification-based approach to promote awareness among young people in the European environment on themes of migration and political refuge. Through the development of training on the methodology, designed with young technicians from partner countries.

  • La Ventanilla

    Place: València

    La Ventanilla (The Window). This is a project aimed at raising awareness and encouraging an active Valencian citizenship from the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDOs). The themes addressed are: inclusive education, gender, the environment and inclusive cities.

    How are we working on this project?

    Through carrying out various social experiments, in which diverse situations are recreated. Reactions are analysed and deconstructed to generate a series of proposals, all aimed at achieving a more socially aware citizenry.
