Two new practical guides, now available in Spanish, facilitate the organisation of inclusive international experiences for young people and educational professionals. Both publications have been created in the framework of the European project ACCESS, promoted by Jovesólides Comunitat Valenciana (Spain) together with Le Partenariat Centre Gaïa from Lille (France) and Anthropolis from Budapest (Hungary), with the aim of promoting education for global citizenship, breaking social barriers and ensuring real opportunities for all young people, especially those with fewer opportunities.
The need for these tools arises from the persistent barriers that many young people face when trying to participate in international programmes, such as lack of physical, social or economic accessibility. These difficulties greatly limit the possibility of benefiting from enriching international experiences that foster personal, academic and professional growth.
These toolkits are particularly useful because they provide practical solutions to overcome these challenges, ensuring that all young people, without exception, can enjoy valuable and transformative international experiences. They also promote greater awareness and training of educational actors on the importance of inclusion at all levels of formal and non-formal education.
The Practical Guide for Inclusive Mobility, addressed to youth workers, gathers lessons learned from the direct experience of 12 young people in international mobility programmes developed in València. This document offers useful tools, good practices at all stages of the process (from initial selection to intercultural facilitation), as well as key points to anticipate specific needs. In addition, the testimonials included in this guide give an insight into the challenges and benefits of inclusive mobility.
The Educators’ Guide provides concrete methodologies for education and youth workers, helping to implement inclusive activities in diverse learning contexts. It aims to empower professionals with practical resources that foster active and equal participation, ensuring that no one is excluded.
Both guides are essential resources to ensure that international mobility is no longer a privilege but an accessible experience for all young people.
Furthermore, within the framework of the ACCESS project, an innovative board game designed to work on global citizenship through gamification has been developed and is currently being tested, thus offering an attractive educational tool that complements and reinforces the project’s objectives of inclusion and global awareness.
The European ACCESS project is distinguished by its strong commitment to inclusion and diversity. At a meeting in Valencia, participants reflected a wide variety of life backgrounds and socio-cultural contexts. This diversity not only enriches the exchange, but is also a central focus of the project, which aims to ensure the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in international mobility experiences linked to global citizenship education. For many of them, this meeting was their first foray into an international project.
The European project ACCESS, promoted by Le Partenariat, Jovesólides and Anthropolis, is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. You can follow all the news of the project with the hashtag #ACCESS on social networks.
