If you have experience in cooperating with young people and you are interested in working against hate speech, this training, organised on a national level, is for you. The ultimate goal: to create a national education and awareness strategy to combat racism, Islamophobia, hate speech and hate crimes, both online and offline.
This call is made within the framework of the European project 'COCO: against daily racism', led by Cazalla Intercultural and with the foundation Al Fanar and Jovesólides as partners. It is aimed at 26 people on a national level who will first participate in a training course led by trainers to learn to work with young people on the themes of (in)visible racism, hate speech online, Islamophobia... This training will take place in Lorca (Murcia), from the 26th to the 30th of October.
Once the training has been received, the participants will implement what they have learnt in activities with young people:
- Local workshops: each participant will organise 20 hours of workshops for a minimum of 50 young people aged between 18 and 30 in their area. The objective: to facilitate the power to reject racist attitudes and thus become peer educators, activists in the awareness of those around.
- Actions and awareness campaigns: organised with the young people participating in the workshops. Also with the support of youth workers and educators.
- Participation in the Youth Forum: this forum will take place in May 2021. It will be a space to share the results of local work (workshops and campaigns); to jointly create a viral campaign against hate speech and to establish a direct dialogue between young people and political authorities.
Requirements to be chosen for the training:
- Have previous experience in working with young people.
- It is valuable to have the title of Leisure and Free Time/Social Education.
- To be available to carry out workshops in summer schools.
- The organisation will give priority to discriminated collectives and groups.
What will you get upon completion?
- Training in educational tools.
- Work experience in work with young people.
- Financial reward.
If you are interested in the project, you can register now to participate in the selection process through this form. We remind you that there is a limited number of places, only 26 people will be able to gain access to the training. You will be able to sign up until the 26th of June.
