Red Próxima is a project led by Jovesolides that aims at fostering the social and cultural integration of immigrants in the Valencian Region. All this is done by networking with the Association for Cooperation among Communities (ACOEC) and the El Marítim Open Space association (EOM).
The main goals of this project are: to provide information and support about the social benefit called Valencian Inclusion Income; to empower participants in terms of health and to develop their ITC skills. To do that, we try to stimulate personal empowerment and work is done to manage interculturality in a positive way.
The very essence of Red Próxima lies in its very name, which is inspired by the Greek word proxenos (πρόξενος), meaning working in favour of foreigners.
All these contents are taught in nine workshops focusing on providing practical information and on fostering intercultural dialogue among the participants. A total of 60 participants take part in these workshops, which are carried out with a proactive and hands-on methodology.
During the first workshop (held by Jovesolides), participants (mostly women) were informed with more detail about the Valencian Inclusion Income, a social benefit that came into effect last April. During the training, we explain who can request this benefit and how.
By means of this project, Jovesolides keeps networking with other entities and providing support to equality of opportunity and the social inclusion of everyone.
Red Próxima is financed by the Regional Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies (Consellería de Igualtat i Polítiques Inclusives). In order to be informed about the news and activities of this program, follow the hashtag #RedPróxima in social media.
