From September 27th to 29th, Jovesolides participated in the “Encuentro sin límites” (Meeting without limits) held in Monterrey (Mexico). Our entity presented Mayores Movilizados (Mobilised Elders), a program carried out in collaboration with the Vodafone Spain Foundation and aimed at fostering the digital inclusion of elderly people. The meeting was organised by the State Institute for Adult People, from Nuevo Levón, and its aim was to generate a space to gather and make this collective visible.
“Meeting without limits” gathered over 1.500 people and offered more than 80 talks on different issues: human rights, geriatrics, public policies, healthy ageing, new technologies and intergenerational inclusion.
Precisely within this category, Jovesolides presented the program for Mobilised Elders, which in only 5 years has trained over 18.000 elderly people in the use of mobile phones and tablets in the Valencian Region and Murcia.
Under the title “Connected Ageing for a Better Living”, Lourdes Mirón, President of Jovesolides, informed the audience about the social, educational and innovative experience of this program to fight the digital gap and to promote intergenerational communication.
'Meeting without limits gathered elderly people, young people, educators, researchers and from the public and private sector.
