For ICT It also trains hundreds of people from the university environment in El Salvador to become transformation agents for digital inclusion

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) organised a debate on the digital divide in university education and the blended or virtual future of teaching as part of the cooperation project Para ICT También, with the participation of five universities from around the world: UPV itself, the University of El Salvador (UES), the University of Valencia (UV), the University of Alicante (UA) and Turkey's Dokuz Eyluel Ueniversitesi.
Evelyn Farfán, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, and Génesis Lozano, Coordinator of Para ICT También in El Salvador, had the opportunity to share the results of the progress of the project, which has led to the strengthening of teaching capacities and increased opportunities for social and professional inclusion of Salvadoran youth. Technology at the service of educational quality in El Salvador
The Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at the University of El Salvador faced the problem of too high a ratio in its classrooms, but the implementation of the technical project 'Para ICT También' has offered a solution to the need to depopulate the classes where teachers and students are trained so that they have technical means and tools to work from home as well.
It should be noted that during the development of the Para ICT También technical cooperation programme, some activities were also carried out to provide training in new technologies with innovative pedagogical tools that made it possible to improve the academic methodology for both teachers and part of the faculty's students. of Law and Social Sciences of the UES. In other words, it was about providing technological tools to compensate for the lack of space and to have the possibility to hold part of the lessons online.
Two audiovisual and computer resource rooms have also been set up in this faculty, which will help improve the centre's pedagogical quality and restore normal teaching in UES degree programmes that have not yet been able to resume classes after the pandemic. Thank you to the technological training provided by the project, you will also be able to implement blended education.
Finally, it is important to highlight that during the Para ICT También cooperation programme, 30 teachers and 20 students from UES were trained in the use of the resources of both laboratories and, together with the technical staff of the library and the department IT, were taught digital security, anonymity, cybersecurity and responsible use of ICTs. They also received training on online teaching platform methods, virtual teaching, blended and online course programming and the flipped classroom.
With this academic training, it is intended that the beneficiaries become transformers to bridge the digital divide in El Salvador and expand their knowledge among their fellow students at UES to end the problem of overbooking of students in the classrooms of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the University of El Salvador.
