9/09/2024 – VALÈNCIA – How can innovation and social entrepreneurship improve challenges such as access to housing, political polarisation, climate emergency or population ageing through Artificial Intelligence?
The 5th International Forum on Social Innovation, to be held in Valencia on 23 September organised by the Jovesólides association, will address these questions with half a dozen experts and nearly 300 participants from the private, public, academic and social sectors. Registration for the event is open until 16 September.
This is a benchmark event in Spain, which in this edition will focus on analysing how Artificial Intelligence, social innovation and social entrepreneurship can be strategic allies to address the main challenges for inclusion, currently related to access to housing, political polarisation, the climate crisis and ageing.
The participants will be the protagonists of a creative and dynamic constructive process, developed through innovative methodologies.
The intense programme of the 5th International Forum on Social Innovation includes six presentations by international experts, four working tables and a collective action, as well as networking spaces. The results of the first study that investigates the state of social innovation in the Valencian Community and offers a detailed diagnosis of the situation of the sector will also be presented.
One of the main attractions of the poster is Gemma Galdón-Clavell, Founder and CEO of Eticas Consulting, based in New York, which has become a global voice of reference in the field of technological ethics and algorithmic responsibility. In the closing conference, she will address the dilemmas posed by Artificial Intelligence and the challenges of social innovation to promote more inclusive societies, with a novel vision that seeks to protect people in technological processes.
David Alayón, an expert in disruptive technologies and Future Studies, will analyse in his keynote speech how AI and emerging technologies can promote the inclusion of marginalised groups and equity in digital societies, closing social and economic gaps.
Political and social polarisation, access to housing, climate emergency and active and healthy ageing are current challenges that also feature prominently in the programme of the 5th International Forum on Social Innovation.
The head of AI at Prodigioso Volcán, Carmen Torrijos, will explore how to curb polarisation through technological tools applied to communication and business culture. Renewable energy and energy efficiency expert Jauad El Kharraz will address the role of Artificial Intelligence in environmental justice and eco-rights. In addition, the President of the Valencian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Sacramento Pinazo, will present pioneering projects that integrate AI and community to improve the quality of life of the elderly.
There will also be a round table discussion between political leaders to analyse the role of the Administration in the face of social challenges. During the same, various local and national experiences will be presented where AI has been allied with social innovation in public services to solve problems in the environment.
The International Forum on Social Innovation promoted by Jovesólides and Escuela Creactiva has become a benchmark event in Spain, which returns with a renewed format at the Polytechnic City of Innovation in Valencia, backed by the success of the four previous editions. Since 2013, it has brought together more than 1,100 experts, professionals and individuals to discover ideas for change, share them and reinvent the social reality around us.
It has the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, through its Chair of the Valencian Public System of Social Services and Ideas-UPV. It is funded by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+I); the Vice-presidency of Social Services, Equality and Housing through the allocation from the ‘social purposes’ box on the income tax return; the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism; and Valencia Innovation Capital of the City Council of Valencia.
