Elisabeth, Samuel, Doris, José, Mariana and Mikel are some of the 555 people who have followed La Ruta de Jovesólides since its launch in 2016. Their stories reflect how this programme of creative itineraries for socio-occupational integration has transformed the lives of many people in vulnerable situations in La Coma (Paterna), Valencia and Elche.
Thanks to their efforts and the comprehensive support provided by La Ruta, they have managed to overcome barriers to access employment and new training opportunities. So far in 2024, La Ruta has already assisted 75 people, helping to improve their employability and empowering them through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT).
Of these, 70% are women. The majority of participants this year are aged between 31 and 50 (60%), followed by those under 30 (27%) and over 50 (13%). The majority of the people attending La Ruta in 2024 are of Spanish nationality, followed by people from Colombia and Morocco. There are also participants from Equatorial Guinea, Bolivia, Mexico, Ukraine, Senegal, Ecuador and Venezuela.
La Ruta has become a benchmark in Valencia, Paterna and Elche for the digital inclusion and socio-labour accompaniment of vulnerable groups that demonstrates the commitment of Jovesólides to the creation of innovative itineraries that enhance the employability of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
The programme facilitates access to employment through digital training and the creation of itineraries adapted to the needs of each participant. In 2024, six job search courses with ICT, six digital literacy courses and six group coaching sessions were held, in addition to more than 350 personalised attention and support sessions.
These training actions have enabled 17 people to find employment and another six to integrate into official training processes, such as obtaining Certificates of Professionalism. Thus, one out of every three people assisted in La Ruta in 2024 has found a job or has started a vocational training process.
The personalised accompaniment and constant support are one of the key elements in achieving these people’s progress towards socio-occupational integration. Their testimonies highlight how the digital skills acquired and the strengthening of personal confidence have been fundamental in successfully achieving their goals
La Ruta is a project promoted by Jovesólides in Paterna, Valencia and Elche thanks to the funding of the Fondo Social Europeo; Vicepresidencia de Servicios Sociales, Igualdad y Vivienda through the allocation of the ‘social purposes’ box on the income tax return; Fundación La Caixa and Ayuntamiento de Paterna.
