Jovesólides receives the recognition Ilustre 2024 from the Valencia City Council for its fight against unwanted loneliness and for e-inclusion

-The council awards Jovesólides on its 25th anniversary for its trajectory in favor of the elderly, promoting digital inclusion and active and healthy aging

-The programs Generación Valores and Mayores Movilizados provide digital training, accompaniment and cultural activities to combat unwanted loneliness among the elderly

The València City Council, through the District Board of Trànsits, has awarded the recognition Illustrious 2024 to Jovesólides, which since its birth in 1999 has been dedicated to improving the quality of life of the elderly and other vulnerable groups. The President of the entity, Lourdes Mirón, said that this award “reminds us of the importance of collective work and institutional support in the struggle to build a more inclusive and just society for all” during the award ceremony in an institutional act where Juan Carlos Caballero, spokesman for the PP in the City Council of Valencia; Julia Climent, Councilor for Participation and Neighborhood Action; Carlos Mundina, Councilor for Parks and Gardens; and the socialist Elisa Valía, participated.

During its 25-year history, Jovesólides has stood out for its innovative work in the fight against unwanted loneliness, active aging and digital inclusion through initiatives such as the Mayores Movilizados project, which has enabled thousands of older people to acquire digital skills and access the benefits of the technological world, thus promoting their independence and active participation in society.

In the wake of the pandemic, Jovesólides expanded its social commitment with the creation of the programs Personas Mayores Acompañadas and Generación Valores, a support network that not only offers telephone accompaniment and psychological support, but also incorporates cultural activities and social gatherings in the neighborhoods of Valencia. These programs have been instrumental in combating social isolation and improving the emotional well-being of the elderly, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to social justice and inclusion.

President Lourdes Mirón thanked the recognition and dedicated it to “all the elderly people who have trusted Jovesólides, who walk by our side and have shown us the strength and value of the community”. “This recognition -he continued –encourages us to continue advancing in our mission to ensure that no elderly person feels alone, that no one is left behind in this digital age, and that we can all age with dignity and quality of life“.

The recognition Ilustre 2024 consolidates Jovesólides as a benchmark in the field of active aging and digital inclusion in the Valencian Community.
