Today we share the experience of Indre Gutauskaité, a European Volunteer who has already completed her volunteer service, but has continued to be connected with our organization Jovesolides. Indre from Lithuania, is passionate about design and perfection, has been a part of our organization by being a support person and the team person almost from the first day. We want to thank her for commitment, dedication and facility to feel part of our team; as well as her professionalism and her constant desire to do things better. It was a luxury to have you with us, Indre!
Indre herself is telling us her experience:
My European Voluntary Service ended a few months ago but I'm still tied to Jovesolides. Once again I want to thank them for this amazing experience, learning and having had the opportunity to find myself as a social entrepreneur. From the first day I had liked the projects of Jovesolides. I wrote my second testimony precisely about how their projects affected me: “Almost five months as European volunteer with Jovesolides: being European volunteer equals (having) "Opportunities". At the end of my EVS I still think of it and I have had the opportunity to do many other things that require more responsibility and in the end I ended up calling Jovesolides “my” organization.
Being a volunteer in Jovesolides gave me the opportunity not only to learn but to teach others. This has been a great discovery for me. So at the end I had idea for the Think Big project where I presented myself with “Positive La Coma” project, idea that was selected for followup by Fundation Telefónica.
My social project consists of creativity training (photography, videos, themes related to TICS) for young people in the neighbourhood La Coma, where young people have some resources but still feel like learning and showing that many positive things exist in their neighbourhood too. The project goal is to make a final video with the help of young participants who will teach the entire Valencian Community that La Coma is a positive neighborhood instead of always being presented with negativism.
I would like to thank Jovesolides for the opportunity to have my first training on social entrepreneurship, and linking me to Think Big to identify identity my idea to turn it into reality later.
At the moment, I am also collaborating in entrepreneurship and social innovation project Red Creactiva. I find a project of great interest in the laboratories offered to young people across Spain who want to become entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs, by learning tools for creativity and communication which lead to changes in their own close environment, generating positive social impact.
And again I want to encourage young people not to be afraid to become volunteers because it is a great learning experience and social and personal practice which helps you to realise yourself in what you want to be. It is an opportunity to get to know yourself closely and understand what you want to do with your future. It helped me!
I attach a video here, dedicated to all the people that I have met this year: team Jovesolides, my colleagues volunteers, Spanish teachers, people who are organizing this program (European Commission, Injuve, my sending organization "Actio Catholica Patria) and others. Thanks to everyone for this opportunity!
